Ukeru Training- Long Beach, CA (Free Conference Registration Included)

The Ukeru team will be conducting this train-the-trainer training in conjunction with an OPEN MINDS institute. This partnership will include FREE conference registration for any participants who sign up for our train-the-trainer session. Not only will participants become Ukeru trainer certified, but they will also have the ability to gain a wealth of relevant knowledge to bring back to their organization through FREE conference participation. Conceptual training will be provided on:

• Verbal and nonverbal communication;
• Managing and de-escalating conflict by converting/diverting aggressive behavior;
• Building an environment focused on comfort rather than on control;
• Taking into account the high prevalence of traumatic experiences in individuals who receive services for developmental, behavioral, and mental health needs.

Physical techniques will also be taught by including the effective use of protective equipment to keep both the caregiver and client safe.

*Please note that in addition to the per participant cost, each organization will pay a portion of our trainers’ travel expenses based on the number of participants.
